The former Gonzaga Bulldogs guard spoke with The Slipper Still Fits less than three months ago and touched on how he wants to continue into coaching, just like his dad. His dream career path is coming true.
Will Graves will be joining the Portland State Vikings in the Big Sky Conference as an assistant coach on head coach Jase Coburn’s staff. He previously served as a graduate assistant for head coach Todd Golden and the Florida Gators for the past two seasons, while graduating with a Master’s Degree in Sports Management.
During his college basketball playing days, Graves was a walk-on with the Bulldogs under head coach Mark Few for three seasons from 2019 to 2022. He spent his final season of college eligibility in 2022-23 with the Southern Oregon Wolves, an NAIA program.
Will’s father, Kelly Graves, served as the Gonzaga women’s basketball head coach from 2000 to 2014 and has been the Oregon Ducks women’s basketball head coach ever since.
