The Alabama Crimson Tide have reportedly flipped an in-state offensive target from a rival SEC program, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
That prospect is talented wide receiver Cedrick Simmons, who, according to Fawcett, flipped his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Wednesday. Simmons had previously committed to Auburn last month, choosing the Tigers over a list of finalists that also included Alabama.

The in-state prospect is considered as a three-star recruit, one which ranks currently as the No. 588 overall player nationally, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. Simmons is also ranked as the nation’s No. 39 athlete, one who projects as a wide receiver at the next level, as well as the No. 24 player in the state of Alabama out of Selma High School.
Entering his senior season, Simmons is also coming off a massive junior campaign at Southside-Selma High School where he led the state of Alabama in receiving, racking up 2,192 yards and 20 touchdowns on 106 receptions.
Simmons is commitment No. 14 for the Crimson Tide in the 2027 cycle, as well as the second wide receiver. The in-state prospect joins Osani Gayles, a five-star out of Florida’s IMG Academy.
