The Miami Heat have already turned to three different options after missing out on LeBron James to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Heat are looking to add another quality player this offseason to complement Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.

Given that both Antetokounmpo and Adebayo are inside scorers, the Heat would benefit from signing a perimeter threat.

The Miami Herald has now reported that they have identified Klay Thompson, Bradley Beal and DeMar DeRozan as targets.

NBA Analysis Network has ranked the three former All-Stars from the worst potential addition for the Heat to the best.

3. DeMar DeRozan

DeMar DeRozan deserves immense credit for the consistency he has shown throughout his 13-year NBA career.

However, the 21-point-per-game scorer has never developed into an above-average three-point shooter.

Given that the Heat desperately need perimeter scoring, ideally from the guard positions, DeRozan is not an ideal fit.

It would make more sense for him to lead Miami’s second unit, but the 36-year-old will probably receive more enticing offers.

2. Klay Thompson

Although Klay Thompson’s statistics have declined recently, he remains an excellent three-point shooter.

The former Golden State Warrior has made almost 41 percent of his attempts in his NBA career, shooting 38% last season.

However, Thompson has never been much of a playmaker, which the Heat also need, and he is not a free agent.

Moreover, while his value is likely relatively low, Miami would still need to trade at least one asset to the Dallas Mavericks.

1. Bradley Beal

A great scorer and outside shooter, a solid playmaker and a free agent, Bradley Beal ticks every box for the Heat.

He would probably be available at a reasonable price and would likely relish being the third option on a contending team.

The only issue with signing Beal is that he missed the last few months of the 2026 season after undergoing hip surgery.

Assuming that he is fully healthy entering next season, Beal could be the missing piece that turns the Heat into title favorites.
