Barry Odom is the new head coach of the Purdue Boilermakers’ football program and he has his work cut out for him.
Odom knows a bit about turnarounds. He took a UNLV program that hadn’t been bowl eligible in over a decade to two-straight bowl games, with the Rebels boasting a 11-3 record last season.
Purdue, in the meantime, missed bowl eligibility for the past few seasons, so it hired Odom in the hopes that he can create a quick turnaround.
Building a good squad used to be a slow process with the recruiting trail often taking years to pay off. Nowadays, a few transfer portal players can put you right back in it, and Purdue is trying to strike lightning with two transfer wideouts from Georgia who maybe just need a new setting to reach their potentials.
On Monday, Purdue landed transfer portal commitments from former Georgia wide receivers Nitro Tuggle and Michael Jackson III.
