Prior to the start of each season, the Draysbay community takes part in an excercise in which the top prospects in the Tampa Bay Rays system are ranked by popular vote.
This season, the Draysbay community ranked the top 25 prospects in the Rays system with several others receiving votes but just falling shy of making the cut.
With the 2025 season officially over, we can now look back and see how each prospect performed and whether their stock has improved, remained the same, or fallen over past several months.
An important note:This is not a re-ranking of the Rays top prospects but a review of the prospects in the order that they were ranked entering the season.Also, I will not be featuring players no longer within the Rays organization.
Honorable Mention: Emilien Pitre
What Danny wrote entering the season:
It’s mildly surprising to put a second baseman with no pop in contention for a top prospect list, but the Rays were aggressive to grab the Quebecois in the second round of this year’s draft after he proved his contact-forward hitting for Kentucky playable in the wood bat Cape Cod League, despite the lack of power. He’s a plus runner and rangy, giving ample coverage up the middle. In 21 games played after the draft the Rays never tried him elsewhere than second, but it’d be interesting to see if his arm can play at short in a pinch.
Pitre was the Rays 2nd round pick in 2024 and after a solid cameo in Single-A made the jump to High-A for the entirety of the 2025 campaign.
Over the course of the season, Pitre steadily improved and did everything needed to improve his prospect stock. During each month of the season, Pitre finished with a wRC+ above league average and he really kicked things into gear with a torrid June stretch; although, his power output vanished in late July as he only slugged .325 over his final 145 plate appearances.

Entering 2026, Pitre seems primed to move up to Double-A where he’ll take over as the starting second second baseman for Montgomery.
