The Tampa Bay Rays have announced that they have traded pitcher Nathan Wiles to the Atlanta Braves for cash considerations.

The right-handed pitcher will add depth to the Braves, likely at Triple-A. Wiles has not yet appeared at in the big leagues since debuting in pro baseball in 2019. He pitched at Triple-A for the Rays last season.
Wiles, 26, was an 8th round draft choice by the Rays out of the University of Oklahoma. Last season with Durham, he pitched in 35 games, making 11 starts across 87.2 innings. He struck out 72 batters and walked 26 while allowing 54 earned runs.
He had pitched eight games during Spring Training for the Rays. In 6.1 innings, he allowed 10 hits and five earned runs but he did strike out 11 batters.
The Braves must have seen something they liked in Wiles as they look to take a flyer on 6’ 4” hurler.
