Braves News: Streaming, Ha-Seong Kim, Raisel Iglesias, more

Well I’m a few days late, but Ha Seong-Kim is here. I never got to write my take and he hit an instrumental homer in Wednesday’s game, so I’ll use this as my chance. I love the move to claim him from the Rays on waivers. While it is his decision to pick up or decline the player option, either the move is a $2 million dollar shortstop for the final month of the season or $16 million for a 30-year old shortstop with a fantastic defensive resume and a solid offensive resume on a one year deal. I hope he picks up the option, because that is a great investment on a one year deal with very low risk and could help bridge the gap to what the franchise has to hope will be Alex Lodise and eventually Tate Southesene. An extension to something like a 2 year $25 million dollar deal for Kim would also make sense and be something I would approve of, as it’s not crazy money and a relatively short term deal for a player with a good track record and a reasonable age.

We took a look at how ESPN’s purchase of MLBtv might affect Braves fans.

The Braves’ offense put together a nice comeback victory to avoid a sweep in Wrigley behind Ha-Seong Kim’s first homer for the team.

Raisel Iglesias won NL Reliever of the Month, as he has had a much stronger back end of the season.
