Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Brewers fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
In this week’s Reacts Survey, we asked fans if they think the Brewers will finish with the best record in Major League Baseball.
After splitting their series with the Diamondbacks this week, the Brewers are now 83-52 on the season, 4.5 games up on the second-best team in baseball, the Toronto Blue Jays, who they’ll just so happen to meet for three games this weekend. Beyond Toronto, the Tigers (five games), Dodgers (5.5 games), and Cubs and Phillies (six games each) are also within shouting distance.
With just 27 games to go, I’d bet that the Brewers need to play roughly .500 baseball (ideally better) to finish atop the NL standings and have a shot at the best record in baseball. I think that’s certainly a plausible outcome, and more than half of the voters agreed with me, as you’ll see below.
FanDuel also agrees, as the odds have moved from -165 (bet $165 to win $100) on Monday to -250 (bet $250 to win $100) on Thursday. The only other team even remotely close in those odds are the Dodgers, at +600 (bet $100 to win $600).
