Hello everybody, welcome to the Game Thread for the #162 of the 2025 season, which thankfully doesn’t hold any playoff significance, but does hold significance because it’s the last time Clayton Kershaw will make a regular season start and appearance in his career before he retires.

Surprisingly, Kershaw will make a normal start, meaning he’s off the playoff roster for now.
It’ll be a normal start for Clayton Kershaw today, Dave Roberts said. He won’t be available for the Wild Card series.

Probably good news for Tanner Scott and maybe Will Klein/Ben Casparius.
Speaking of, it sure looks like it’s gonna be Shohei Ohtani and Blake Snell for Game 1 and Game 2, respectively.
If they get eliminated without Yoshinobu Yamamoto making a start … hoo boy. https://t.co/UcqmUTJQV4

Yoshinobu Yamamoto would likely be in line to start Game 3 or Game 1 of the NLDS.

Ensuring the Dodgers don’t overuse their pen before the playoffs, Landon Knack is up with Andrew Heaney going back down.
The Dodgers have recalled RHP Landon Knack and optioned LHP Andrew Heaney.

======
All the games today start around the same time, and the relevant one for the Dodgers are the Mets at the Marlins and the Reds at the Brewers to determine their NL Wild Card Series opponent. A Reds win and/or a Mets loss means the Dodgers face the Reds, a Reds loss and a Mets win means they face the Mets.
