No real surprises here, but Eli White is drawing a second straight start against a right-handed pitcher, so maybe Alex Verdugo will just be Verdu-gone for good soon.
At this point, the Braves really need to figure out some sort of plan for Ozzie Albies and Michael Harris II, because they don’t seem to have any way to keep either guy consistently working on anything, and their flip-flopping of them in the lineup over and over is at least somewhat emblematic of just being lost at sea with regard to how to handle both of those guys.
They have little to lose by basically hitting the reset button with either guy, but much like everything else, I’m guessing we won’t see any dramatic changes for a while because the team will keep up the business-as-usual facade amid plummeting playoff odds because that’s what they do.
But, hey, not having to watch Verdugo is a win in my book.
If you’ve watched the rest of this series, this Milwaukee lineup will be pretty familiar to you. It’s missing Christian Yelich and William Contreras is the DH, but otherwise, these are the same guys that got eaten alive by Chris Sale on Monday and then popped some bombs off Grant Holmes on Tuesday.
