Looking for a third straight series win, the Braves were hoping for more success from Joey Wentz to lead them against the Guardians.

It was a slow first inning, with only one baserunner and no runs, but the Braves landed the first punch in the second inning. Drake Baldwin led the inning off with a rocket of a double and Marcell Ozuna reached on a hit-by-pitch. Nacho came through with an RBI single with two outs and Nick Allen brought another two runs home with a double of his own, giving the Braves an early 3-0 lead. Wentz worked around a walk with three strikeouts in the second to solidify the lead. The Guardians pulled a run back in the third on a solo home run from Rocchio.

The Braves were fortunate to score another two runs in the fourth, with the aid of a fielding error and wild pitch, as Nacho singled and Profar walked, as the earned baserunners of the inning. Another scoreless Wentz inning later, the Braves piled on another three runs, as an Acuna single and an Ozuna double set the table for a mammoth Michael Harris II three run home run, as he continues to absolutely rake, which is a sight for the sore eyes of Braves’ fans.

Wentz cruised through the fifth on contact outs, handing the game back over to the offense, who once again did not disappoint. Matt Olson led the game off with a single and Ronald Acuna doubled, landing Olson on third. Marcell brought Matt home on a sac fly before Michael Harris came through again with a double, handing the Braves a dominant 10-1 lead.

Joey was able to finish the sixth, completing an outing of 6.0 1 run innings with 5 strikeouts and 2 walks, another solid outing. Hunter Stratton was able to complete the final three innings of the game, as the game was effectively over and he did so admirably, completing three scoreless innings with three strikeouts and no walks, aided by a nice jumping catch from Michael Harris. The Braves offense was quiet for the rest of the game as well.

Join us as the Braves go for a sweep on Sunday at 1:40 PM ET.
