There were questions about whether Jonathan Aranda would return at all this season after fracturing his wrist in a collision at first base on July 31st. When a player fractures his wrist, there are always questions about how it will impact their swing when they do make their return.
Aranda successfully answered both of these questions as the Rays activated him for the final series of the year and the sweet swinging left clobbered two impressive homeruns. The 27-year old first baseman certainly made his presence known as he knocked in five of the Rays seven runs scores over the three game series.
The Rays may have been swept by Toronto but it was a victory in itself that Aranda returned and managed to put a solid ending to his wonderful 2025 season.
Overall this year, Aranda hit .316/.393/.489 with 14 HR, registering a 146 wRC+ and accruing 2.5 fWAR over 106 games played. Among players with at least 400 PA this season, Aranda finished with the 2nd highest batting average, 6th highest on-base percentage, and 11th highest wRC+.
