With Jurickson Profar leading off for the Atlanta Braves in the last couple of games, it was a switch-up to see power-hitter Eli White taking that spot in yesterday’s game.
Today, he’ll be in the seventh hole playing right field with Profar back to the top.
Ozzie Albies, who was batting behind White yesterday at second, will be right above him in the sixth slot tonight.
Drake Baldwin is back catching tonight, and centerfielder Michael Harris II has moved up to bat fifth after showing offensive improvements in the last few games.
Oh, and by the way… if you haven’t noticed already, there’s a name you might not be familiar with batting eighth and taking up third base.
Jonathan Ornelas was traded to Atlanta from the Texas Rangers back in May after being designated for assignment. Since then, he’s been spending time in Gwinnett, slashing .202/.320/300 with a total of six home runs and 25 RBIs.
He’s replacing Jarred Kelenic, who was sent back down to Triple-A after Monday’s game, and spends time playing both shortstop and second base on a usual basis, but third base can also be a good adjustment for him.
And we’ve already mentioned our pitcher on the mound, Carlos Carrasco, making this his second start with the Braves.
Here’s something to leave you with before tonight’s start… Chris Sale is throwing live BP at Truist tonight as I type this.
Do with that information as you will.
For the Miami Marlins, they’ve kept most of their batting order the same.
And the Marlins sure don’t have much to fix, especially with Pérez taking the mound.
The only adjustments made is that Kyle Stowers is now playing leftfield, with Agustín Ramírez taking over DH, Liam Hicks is catching and Eric Wagaman will be first base amd batting seventh.
