The Rays front office did us a favor by making this trade before we recorded our latest episode, sending Danny Jansen to Milwaukee and acquiring Nick Fortes in a separate trade.
Yandy Diaz, Brandon Lowe, Pete Fairbanks, and Zack Littell also seem like candidates to be dealt, but market forces may play a role in the direction the Rays decide to go. Darby and I debate which players the team should hold, and what trades the club could make to stay competitive for the remainder of 2025 and 2026.
Also, Taj Bradley was optioned to AAA Durham after another frustrating start from the young righty. If the Rays want him to spend significant time in the minors, starting pitching may no longer be a position of depth for the Rays. That could have an impact on how they approach the deadline.
