The Tampa Bay Rays have announced that the Saturday Shoppes outdoor market will return to Tropicana Field beginning on March 22. The event is free to the public and will take place in Lot 1 from 12-5 p.m. Parking is free as well.
Saturday Shoppes founder Renee Edwards created the monthly event for minority and women-owned businesses to showcase their goods, services and other offerings in a safe space. The Rays and Saturday Shoppes have been partners since 2019.
“The Rays organization believes in the power of community, and that means supporting and uplifting local businesses that reflect the diversity and strength of our city,” said Rays President Brian Auld. “Saturday Shoppes is about creating opportunities, fostering inclusivity and showcasing the vibrancy of the area.”
The market had to move when Hurricanes Helene and Milton impacted the region, damaging Tropicana Field and bringing emergency services to stage in and respond from the parking lots.
“The Tampa Bay Rays have been steadfast supporters of my passion from the very start,” said Renee Edwards, Founder of Saturday Shoppes. “They also recognize the resilience of our community, knowing that not even hurricanes can shake our spirit. The return of Saturday Shoppes to Tropicana Field is a testament to St. Petersburg’s vitality, strength and commitment to inclusion for all.”
The March 22 event will also play host to the third annual Pets Day Out. This event is a collaboration between Saturday Shoppes and the City of St. Petersburg’s St. Pete PAWS initiative, which established St. Pete as a pet-friendly city. Pets Day Out will include more than 100 local vendors with products for both people and pets, animal shelter partners from across Pinellas County, plus several food trucks and live music. On “Rescue Row,” attendees can meet adoptable pets, watch pet training demonstrations and see a St. Petersburg Police Department K-9 demonstration.
Other specialty Saturday Shoppe dates in 2025 are centered around unique food and music themes.
