Jalen Williams issued a strange message ahead of the 2025 NBA Finals against the Indiana Pacers.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are the massive favorites to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy in the 2025 NBA Finals.
They will face off against the Tyrese Haliburton-led Indiana Pacers, who are on a Cinderella run this offseason after eliminating the New York Knicks in the conference finals.
While the Thunder are a better team, at least on paper, many are rooting against them. There are a plethora of alleged reasons behind it, but it seems like Thunder All-Star Jalen Williams is ignoring his critics.
Jalen Williams’ message to his critics
The 2025 NBA Playoffs are only the second time that Williams is playing in the postseason, but he has already become an easy target to criticize on the current OKC roster.
Being just 24 years old, there’s no doubt that Williams has had a few off-nights in the postseason and faced major flak from fans for the same.
However, the 2025 NBA All-Star recently showed his rock-solid mentality via an Instagram post, which had a message for his critics.
“Your boos don’t mean anything to me, I’ve seen what you people cheer for…” Williams wrote.
It’s unclear if Williams was referring to the Minnesota Timberwolves fanbase or the NBA community as a whole, but it’s certain that J-Dub is entering the 2025 NBA Finals with one goal – Winning the NBA Championship.
What Williams thinks of the Indiana Pacers
When the 2025 playoffs began, hardly anyone expected the Pacers to be the last team standing in the Eastern Conference.
However, the Pacers have used opponents underestimating them to their advantage as they stand just four wins away from winning an NBA Championship.
With that said, it feels like Williams and the Thunder won’t make this mistake. That was evident from the way J-Dub spoke about the Pacers during a practice media session.
“They play fast, and that’s kind of what fuels their whole identity. And they’re really talented. They’re coming in extremely confident, we’re coming in confident, so it should be really fun,” the Thunder star stated.
As Williams stated, the upcoming series between the two sides has all the ingredients to be a great contest for fans. Both teams are talented enough to win their first-ever championship in franchise history.
