Jurassic Park And Nike To Drop A Trilogy Of Ja 3 Colors

The continuing dominance of the Nike Ja 3, both critically and commercially, and a run of winking, playful collaborations have made Mr. Morant arguably the most creatively daring member of the Nike Basketball roster. Already, the Jurassic Park x Nike Ja 3 capsule looms as possibly the Grizzlies star’s best co-designed work, with one of the included styles now officially revealed.

Product images of this menacing black/yellow/red pair mark our closest look at any from the collaboration, having already checked off in-hands shots of this one and a tropical counterpart previously. Much of what’s revealed in Nike’s studio shots confirms those earlier looks: the return of “Ja” graffiti on the sides, the classic Jurassic Park branding on the tongue, and a duo shot of two Velociraptors spread across the insoles.

Likely the biggest discovery here is the packaging details. Continuing the focus on those “clever girls,” the shoebox takes its cues from the Velociraptor cages from the film, replete with distressed concrete, claw marks, and a fiery Swoosh. Nike makes the homage evident with text on the top lid: “Ja will not be contained. Ja breaks free. Ja finds a way.” Closing out, the amber that allowed scientists to bring back the Paleolithic-era creatures inspires an orange oval hangtag with the Ja logo embedded within.

The Nike Ja 3 x Jurassic Park collection is still expected to drop off three distinct styles once it comes to market. Though these official images don’t come with a hard-and-fast date, we’re projecting an April release. These shots do confirm, however, that adult and GS sizing will be on tap.
