Luka Doncic spoke candidly about his frustrations over the Dallas Mavericks trade and what Nico Harrison has said since the move.
Despite months going by, it’s still hard to believe the Dallas Mavericks traded Luka Doncic. The franchise and player looked like they would be together forever.
But Nico Harrison’s ‘gut call’ to trade Luka Doncic completely severed that relationship. However, Harrison has shown no remorse over his decision.
While he did look angry after Anthony Davis left yesterday’s play-in game with another injury, for the most part, Harrison has stood firm on whatever he has said.
Luka Doncic is someone who has a lot of pride. And even he felt that the comments and planted stories from Harrison and the Mavericks crossed a line.

Luka Doncic on ‘Sad’ Mavericks response
Luka Doncic spoke in an interview with Malika Andrews from ESPN about his blockbuster move to the Los Angeles Lakers.
When talking about the recent comments made about him by Nico Harrison and the Mavs, he said he ignored it out of respect to the franchise. But he did make it clear that he wanted to stay in Dallas.
“It mostly came from Dallas, but I didn’t want to talk back. I don’t read into any of that stuff, I just try to focus on my journey…”
“It’s sad the way he’s talking right now. I never say anything bad about him. I just want to move on. Of course, [I wanted to stay]. That’s an easy question.”

Doncic focused on new Lakers journey
Rather than harp on the past, Luka Doncic just wants to focus on the future. Doncic’s comments above echo what he told Mavericks fans after his emotional game back in Dallas.
Tonight, Luka gets a massive opportunity, as he and the Lakers embark on what could be a historic playoff run with their first game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Doncic will be familiar with the Timberwolves, as he helped the Mavericks vanquish them in the Western Conference Finals.
And while Luka’s supporting cast has gotten much better, Anthony Edwards‘ has gotten much worse. Doncic will look to make quick work of the Timberwolves for a second straight year.
