Michael Jordan is the greatest shooter of all time ahead of Stephen Curry, says Fox Sports radio host

Fox Sports radio host has a mind-blowing take on Stephen Curry’s status as the greatest shooter of all time.

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has an excellent resume featuring a plethora of accolades, including four NBA Championships.

Curry is undoubtedly a future Hall of Famer and he will most fondly be remembered as the greatest shooter of all time in eyes of most fans.

Steph’s status as the GOAT shooter is pretty much set, but according to Fox Sports radio host Rob Parker, that’s not the case. In fact, he would rather choose Michael Jordan over Curry as the GOAT shooter.

Rob Parker: ‘Stephen Curry is not the greatest shooter’

Despite making more than 4,000 three-point shots and changing the way basketball is played in the modern-era, Parker denied Curry’s case for the greatest shooter of all time.

“He’s just not the greatest shooter of all time. That’s where we’re going to put this. Because I’m still going to say I would take a lot of other players in a big moment.

“This is what I’m saying, we can open this up sooner than later because I really want to hear from people and hear what I’m saying.

“When you call someone the greatest shooter, it means under any circumstance, you would want them to have the ball when you need a basket. I don’t care what they all say.

“He has had 14 looks with a chance to tie and win the game in the postseason. And he hasn’t made one of them.”

Parker then claimed that the biggest shots that Curry has made were during the 2024 Paris Olympics. But were they clutch shots? Not by the Fox Sports radio host’s definition.

“The biggest threes he made came in the Olympics. And they don’t even count in the NBA. Only one of those shots was considered a clutch shot.”

Parker would choose Michael Jordan, Ray Allen, or Reggie Miller

There is no doubt that before the rise of Curry, the likes of Ray Allen and Reggie Miller were viewed as two of the greatest shooters of all time.

But Parker went one step further and included Michael Jordan on his list of GOAT shooters.

“I think he is disqualified from being considered the greatest shooter. Is he the greatest three-point maker? Without question. I would be lying to you if I sat here and said he wasn’t, he is.

“But there is a difference between the two. I really believe that. I would give Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Michael Jordan, any of those people, the ball with the game on the line before I gave it to Steph Curry.”

Basically, Parker’s argument relies on Curry’s somewhat lackluster performance in the NBA’s definition of clutch shots, which is any made basket when the game is in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter or overtime. The score should also be within five points.

Sure, Curry shoots 40.1% under those parameters in the playoffs. But Jordan’s 41.9%, Allen’s 42.8%, and Miller’s 39.8% aren’t that far off.

As for including Jordan in the GOAT shooter debate, it’s simply a terrible take. Or are we forgetting that MJ was just 32.7% from the three-point line for his career?

On top of that, he also holds the record for the worst-ever performance in a three-point contest after shooting just 16.67%.
