Nike GT Cut Academy 2 Release Date

Nike Basketball will always prioritize building the best possible sneakers by pushing its latest performance tech into newly designed silhouettes – something we’re seeing right now with models like the GT Future and incoming GT Cut 4. That said, basketball shoes hovering near the $200 mark aren’t realistic purchases for many younger hoopers and their families, especially when you factor in growing feet and the wear-and-tear that comes with outdoor play. The GT Cut Academy line exists to bridge that gap, and Nike is now rolling out its second installment with the GT Cut Academy 2.

Built for all positions and all playing surfaces, the GT Cut Academy 2 features Air Zoom cushioning in the forefoot, herringbone traction underfoot, and a slim, low-top profile that aligns with what today’s players gravitate toward.

While the first Academy model borrowed heavily from the GT Cut 2, this sequel more predictably draws inspiration from the GT Cut 3. Durable mesh constructs the heel and medial side, while a separate ventilated panel extends outward from the forefoot for added breathability.
