With Kobe Bryant’s birthday and Mamba Day falling on consecutive days, the celebration surrounding the Black Mamba’s legacy will always be a movie. For the last three years, the Mamba League has served as the celebration of not only Kobe’s life, but also that of Gigi’s with the father-daughter duo’s love of hoops serving as the lasting legacy for the next generation to follow.
The third annual Mamba League Invitational closed out last weekend, and the victor received a special gift from Nike and Vanessa Bryant in the form of some exclusive footwear. This latest version of the Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Year Of The Snake” was made exclusively for participants of that circuit, featuring a bright crimson orange upper, a green snake slithering around the upper, and speckling patterns on the midsole. “Mamba League” is embroidered behind the tongue for that truly exclusive treatment.
This Nike Kobe 5 Protro won’t be hitting the public and was issued only to the select few of the Mamba League. In fact, the Kobe 5 model itself is becoming scarcer as only a few pairs are confirmed over the next year, and they’re both attributed to Caitlin Clark. Additionally, the Kobe Brand has turned its focus to the third model, recently unveiling the Kobe 3 Low Protro for the first time.
