The groundwork is in place for the launch of A’ja Wilson’s debut signature basketball model with Nike; a long-awaited and well-deserved sneaker bestowed on one of the best women hoopers of all time. The Nike A’One will release widely in “Pink Aura” on May 8th, but not before A’ja and co. stoke anticipation with a pre-launch marketing tour.
Ahead of the official Nike A’One debut, the Beaverton brand is ramping up energy around the inaugural A’ja Wilson shoe with a “Pre-Heat” event series beginning in March.
As revealed by A’ja on Instagram, Nike is hosting three pre-release activations. The first takes place at Foot Locker in Columbia, South Carolina, which is A’ja Wilson’s hometown, on March 16th. The second stop is at DICK’S in Las Vegas on March 22nd, and the third takes place at Nike Tampa on April 3rd.
Based on the social media teaser, the “Pink Aura” Nike A’One is expected to pre-release at all three occasions. Soft shades of pink appear around the center of the shoe, gradually getting more vibrant with each subsequent layer. Script “A’ja” text appears on the heel, and a hidden message reading “As a matter of fact, the best is yet to come” appears on the outsole. As for the tech, the key Nike A’One quality is Cushlon ST2 foam.
The “Pink Aura” Nike A’One releases widely on May 8th in adult and grade school sizing, retailing for $110 and $90, respectively.
