The Sacramento Kings will be searching for the same form that helped the team end its playoff drought in 2023.

At the time, the Sacramento Kings went 16 seasons without reaching the NBA Playoffs. However, the organization finally ended its postseason drought under the leadership of head coach Mike Brown.

But less than two seasons after that historic run, the Kings decided to move on from Brown and hire Doug Christie as the team’s head coach.

Christie’s task will be to lead the team back into the postseason. Keeping that in mind, let’s take a look at what changes the Kings’ front office has made for Christie’s first full season as head coach.

Biggest additions to the Sacramento Kings’ roster

After trading De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs last season, the Kings now have the likes of Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine leading the team.

Heading into the offseason, the Kings’ biggest task was to add an elite point guard to the roster, and they achieved that by signing Dennis Schroder to a three-year deal.

With that said, here are all the additions that the Kings have made ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season.

Most Kings fans will have their eyes set on the debut of Schroder. After all, Schroder led Germany to a gold medal at the 2025 EuroBasket.

The fanbase will be hopeful that Schroder can bring a similar form to the hardwood once the regular season kicks off.

Biggest departures from the Sacramento Kings’ roster

Considering the Kings have missed the playoffs in back-to-back seasons, many wondered if the front office would entirely blow up their core.

So far, the franchise has decided to stick to its seasoned core. However, there have been some departures from the roster.

Following a stint that lasted just 32 games, the Kings parted ways with Jonas Valanciunas. The big man struggled during his tenure, and the trade doesn’t really come as a surprise.
