There will be a UConn basketball doubleheader at Mohegan Sun this fall.
Both the Huskies’ men’s and women’s basketball teams will take the court in Uncasville for a Columbus Day (Oct. 13) Basketball Hall of Fame exhibition against Boston College, the school announced Wednesday. Game times, broadcast and ticket information will be available at a later date.
It will be the second year in a row that the UConn men take part in the Hall of Fame exhibition at Mohegan Sun. The Huskies beat Rhode Island, Dan Hurley’s former team, 102-75 during the inaugural holiday weekend event last year before putting together a 24-11 record and exiting the NCAA Tournament in the second round.
The reigning national champion UConn women have had plenty of success at Mohegan Sun in the past, including a 4-0 record in the building last year. The Huskies rolled over Iowa State in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase in December and returned to claim the program’s 23rd Big East Tournament title before running through the March Madness field.
UConn’s last regular season matchup against Boston College in women’s basketball came in 2005, a 60-46 victory for the Huskies, who hold a 34-9 record in the all-time series that began in 1981. The men last played during UConn’s 2013-14 national championship season, when Ryan Boatright made a pair of clutch free throws and blocked a shot in the final seconds to secure a 72-70 victory over the Eagles. The UConn men hold a 55-35 record in the all-time series against BC, which dates back to the 1918-19 season.
These exhibitions will not count toward the all-time series records.
Both of Boston College’s basketball programs posted sub-.500 records in 2024-25, with the men taking a step back and finishing 12-19 in Year Four under coach Earl Grant, and the women finishing 16-18 in coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee’s seventh season.
