Luka Doncic had some immediate instructions for Austin Reaves after he got injured against the Golden State Warriors.
The Los Angeles Lakers might have some reason to panic now. During their third preseason game against the Golden State Warriors, it looked like Austin Reaves suffered an injury.
Prior to that point, Reaves was playing very well, scoring 21 points in 22 minutes while shooting an impressive 70% from the field.
However, a collision with Brandin Podziemski on the defensive end caused him to hurt his right knee and ankle, along with a possible knock to his left ankle as well.
The Lakers quickly called a timeout, and while sitting on the bench, Reaves got one stern instruction from Luka Doncic.
Luka Doncic told Austin Reaves ‘enough’ after injury, asked him to end his game
As mentioned above, Austin Reaves suffered a hard-looking knock while playing against the Golden State Warriors.
During the timeout, when Reaves was sitting on the bench and clutching his leg, Luka Doncic turned to him and asked him to end his night.
“Alright, that’s enough.”
The Lakers subsequently ruled out Reaves from returning to the game, taking him to the back so he can get some ice on the injury and have it further evaluated.
A potential injury to Reaves in the offseason could be disastrous, and add to the Lakers’ problems heading into opening night.
Losing Austin Reaves and LeBron James is a nightmare for LA Lakers
If Reaves’ injury turns out to be even remotely serious, he will find himself on the sidelines with LeBron James, who is also out right now.
Luka Doncic admitted the Lakers must work harder without LeBron to make up for what they will be missing.
Adding Reaves to the group of players the Lakers need to compensate for is not going to end well for them.
Hopefully, this turns out to be nothing more than a minor knock. Regardless, the Lakers should be careful and keep Reaves seated till the end of preseason.
