Alycia Baumgardner, the undisputed women’s junior lightweight champion, has signed with Jake Paul’s MVP Promotions. “MVP is excited to announce we have signed Alycia Baumgardner,” the outlet claimed, “the 130lb Undisputed Champion.” For her own part, the thirty year old Baumgardner is coming across as eager to be a part of Paul’s team. “MVP has proven they’re leaders in women’s boxing, creating the biggest opportunities for fighters like me to shine,” Baumgardner stated. “This partnership is a natural fit – not just for my career but for the impact we’re making on the sport. The future just got even bigger.”
Without doubt, the decision to team with MVP promises to generate even more interest in the highly regarded Baumgardner. Paul, too, is clearly excited about this latest development. “MVP is strategically building a roster of fighters who deliver the W both inside and outside the ring,” Paul and partner Nakisa Bidarian stated “and we are thrilled to welcome Alycia to the family as our newest women’s world champion,” The MVP team is certainly one of the more colorful entities in the current fight game. Along with Paul, and Baumgardner, MVP is also home to the legendary Amanda Serrano. “Welcome to The Future,” the popular Serrano said to Baumgardner on social media on Tuesday.
With Serrano on her way to a major third fight with arch rival Katie Taylor, there are questions now of whether or not Baumgardner will appear on the undercard of that highly anticipated card at Madison Square Garden this summer. For the moment, however, nothing has been declared. What isn’t mysterious is the fact that MVP is working with a plan, a plan that clearly includes some of the biggest names in women’s boxing.
With a record of 15-1 Baumgardner is unquestionably one of the the biggest stars in women’s fisticuffs. Aside form a single loss to Christina Linardatou, she’s earned herself a perfect record. And she avenged her loss to Linardatou back in 2023. With that being said, Baumgardner is a person who puts things in prospected. “From humble beginnings to the biggest stages in boxing,” Baumgardner posted on social media. “Every belt, every battle, every blessing — this journey is bigger than me. Grateful, focused, and ready for more. Legacy in motion.”
