Tim Bradley lectured Gervonta Davis today on his channel for losing out on his $40 million bag for the Jake Paul fight due to the civil lawsuit filed against him by his ex-girlfriend last October.
$40 Million Gone
The lawsuit resulted in the YouTuber-turned-boxer star’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) cancelling the November 14th exhibition match with Tank Davis. Bradley scolded Tank for the blown chance to get the $40 million bag. He didn’t just trash Davis. He also launched into MVP, roasting them for having chosen Tank in the first place. In other words, they should have known better.
“Dumbest Dude in Boxing”
“Let’s lean on Tank for a minute. You got to be the dumbest dude in the history of boxing. $40 million down the drain,” said Tim Bradley on his YouTube channel, trashing Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis for the Jake Paul exhibition fight due to the civil lawsuit against him. “I’m like, $40 million, bro—literally, wealth down the drain. I don’t understand it.”
The lawsuit was officially filed in October, after Tank Davis had already signed for the Jake Paul exhibition on September 23, 2025. He wouldn’t have known. That is a huge payday that Tank Davis is missing out on with the $40 million down the drain.
MVP’s Rookie Moves
“MVP Promotions, whatever you call your promotions. It’s more like rookie promotions. You don’t know what you were dealing with. You had no clue,” said Bradley. “This has always been down Tank’s alley. This has always come up in the last few fights of Tank’s career. MVP, more like rookie promotions, y’all should have had a backup plan. You should have had a backup fighter.”
It was a bad idea from the start for Jake Paul to use Tank Davis as his opponent in the November 14th exhibition match. With his track record of legal problems outside of the ring. Moreover, the backlash about the cruiserweight Paul using the much smaller 135-pounder Tank as his opponent made him look pathetic in the eyes of fans. It wasn’t worth it.
“You should have had a plan B just in case this man, Tank Davis, don’t show up. Now, you’re looking like idiots. I heard through the grapevine that the joint wasn’t even selling. Yeah, because everybody is tired of your bullcrap, Jake Paul. As soon as you moved to Florida, I knew that joint wasn’t going to sell, bro,” said Bradley.
It would have had to be a big name for Jake to have as Plan B, for him to sell out the 20,000-seat Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. For that kind of fight, the backup option would have needed to be either an active star or one of the fire mega-names that fans would be eager to see Jake face in an exhibition.
Exhibitions Gone Stale
Boxing fans are tired of exhibition matches. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has overdone it in the last seven years, and people don’t want to see those types of fights in large numbers.
Bradley says that Jake needs to start fighting “real fighters, somebody in the top 10.” The problem with that is that there are no really big names at cruiserweight that fans would want to see Paul face.
The most popular fighters, Jai Opetaia and Gilberto Ramirez, aren’t stars in the U.S. Although Ramirez has fought in the U.S throughout his career, he has not become a huge name. The only way that Jake can bring fans is by either facing popular heavyweights or fighters from the 175 or 168-lb divisions. Bringing in these fighters is what Paul needs:
Anthony Joshua
Tyson Fury
David Benavidez
Terence Crawford
Canelo Alvarez
Jaron Ennis
Artur Beterbiev
Dmitry Bivol
The drawback of Jake Paul fighting one of those guys is that he would likely lose and get knocked out embarrassingly. He’s not going to be able to compete against any of them without landing a big punch to score a knockout.
