Claressa Shields considers leaving USA after doping acquittal

Claressa Shields says she’s considering walking away from the United States after being cleared of doping.

‘The GWOAT’ was left contemplating a future ban when temporarily suspended by the Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission for a positive marijuana swab test. After protesting her innocence, Shield got vindication this week as it was proved second-hand smoke was the culprit during her February 2 heavyweight title fight.

Shields is now free to resume her career. She said, “Officially unsuspended! But you are all a little quiet!

“You all were real loud about me ‘supposedly’ smoking marijuana and being suspended! No worries! And still an Undisputed heavyweight champ!

“I have the Order to prove it!!! I’m about to go live on Instagram!”

Part of the MUCC confirmation that exonerated Shields read, “Respondent’s license was summarily suspended based on a positive drug test administered following a contest held on February 2, 2025. On March 14, 2025, Respondent petitioned the MUCC, care of the Department, to dissolve the Order of Summary Suspension.

“In response to a petition, the Department, on behalf of the MUCC, may grant or deny a request to dissolve the Order of summary suspension or immediately schedule a hearing to decide whether to grant or deny the request to dissolve the Order. The Department held a compliance conference with Respondent on March 6, 2025.

“It’s ordered that, based on the information Respondent provided at the compliance conference, the Department, on behalf of the MUCC, finds that there is no longer an imminent threat to the integrity of the sport, the public interest, or the welfare and safety of a contestant that requires emergency action.

“The Order of Summary Suspension referred to above is dissolved, effective March 14, 2025. The Department will remove the Respondent’s name from the suspension list of the sanctioned record-keeping organization, effective on the same date.”

The information was released by Linda Clegg – Director of Corporations, Securities & Commercial Licensing Bureau, concluded, “This Order does not resolve the Formal Complaint issued on February 12, 2025, and does not close the enforcement action.”

The undisputed champion then revealed her next move could be to another country.

“After dealing with what I’ve been dealing with, I’m considering moving out of the country, starting a boxing program in Africa, and opening a school for underserved kids.

“I’m really not with the BS the USA is having. There is too much racism and sexism, and even though everyone yells ‘equality!’
