Tim Bradley breaks down why Shakur Stevenson beats Gervonta Davis

Tim Bradley spent some time breaking down Shakur Stevenson’s most recent performance and explains why he thinks Shakur’s fragile hands will prevent him from fighting in the style we most recently saw from him before going on to speculate on how a fight between Shakur and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis would play out.

“If Gervonta is all the way locked in — I personally think Gervonta Davis is one foot in, one foot out. You can’t be a one foot in, one foot out type of fighter,” Bradley would say. “I think Gervonta Davis is looking for a big payday and he going to sail off. So if that Gervonta Davis get into the ring with Shakur, I got Shakur all day. All day, seven days a week.

“But if we get an all the way locked in Tank Davis it’s a little bit more of a difficult fight. If you really think about the style matchup between these two, you got one of the best defensive fighters if not the best defensive fighter in the game, you got one of the most accurate fighters, power punchers in the game as well. But you have one that throws less punches.

“Out of any of these top guys at 135 pounds [Tank] throws the least amount of punches. You got a guy like Shakur who showed you that he has offense. I think stylistically would favor Shakur based upon his defensive and his offense now but, again, all the way locked in, all it takes is one from Tank. And if he lands that one, I don’t know. Could be bad for Shakur, could be not. Maybe Shakur takes it.

“We really haven’t seen Shakur get hit with something that really got his attention or changed his world. I still think it’s a helluva fight, I think it’ll be a boring fight, too. I don’t think it’ll be an entertaining fight. But, hey, that’s why we like the fights. Two big, great names coming with different styles and it’ll be great for the fans but we’ll see. I personally don’t think the fight will ever happen. And that’s my personal opinion, I’m not hating…I think Tank will retire before that.”
