😡 ‘Angry’ Salford City Fans Storm Pitch in Protest Against co-owner Gary Neville

Tensions boiled over during Salford City’s fiery local derby against Oldham Athletic, as a group of home fans stormed the pitch to vent their anger at club co-owner Gary Neville.

🎯 The Reds took all three points in a tight 1–0 victory, with Daniel Udoh scoring the decisive goal — but the match was overshadowed by scenes of unrest in the stands and on the pitch.

⚽ The Incident

Midway through the second half, a number of Salford supporters broke through the barriers and entered the pitch, holding banners and chanting against Neville.

Security staff and police quickly intervened to restore order.

🔥 Why the Anger?

The protest follows Neville’s recent controversial remarks about “middle-aged white men” — comments that many supporters felt were unfair and divisive.

Some fans have since branded the former Manchester United defender a “traitor”, accusing him of being out of touch with the very supporters who helped build the club’s identity.

🗣️ Fan Reactions

Outside the stadium, fans could be heard chanting “Neville out!” while others took to social media to demand he step back from his public and political commentary.

Fans on X wrote:

“Gary used to stand for the working-class fan — now he looks down on us. It’s a betrayal.”

“They are proving Gary Neville’s point exactly”

Three men have been arrested so far after the incident, confirmed by the Police.
