Tottenham have reportedly agreed personal terms with a high-earning star as sporting director Johan Lange pushes for another January signing.
Spurs eye winter deals amid ongoing injury crisis
After sealing deals for ex-Chelsea captain Conor Gallagher and highly-rated Brazilian left-back Souza, the Lilywhites are showing zero sign of letting up as we fast approach the February 2 deadline.
Pressure on Thomas Frank is mounting, with their 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League providing temporary respite for the Dane, but it is clear he needs more depth.
His injury-ravaged squad was dealt another blow earlier this week after news that Lucas Bergvall could be out for up to three months with an ankle injury, which may even result in him missing Sweden’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Ukraine in March.

Tottenham now in talks to sign West Ham player on loan, Thomas Frank loves him
It’s Spurs’ second link to a Hammers star today…
The teenager now joins James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur, Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski and Ben Davies on Tottenham’s hefty injury list, with Lange and co looking to the transfer market for solutions.
Tottenham are believed to be targeting a forward to shore up their wide options, with the north Londoners also in talks over a West Ham swap deal involving Mads Hermansen and Antonin Kinsky.
Elsewhere, news emerged today that they’ve opened talks with Liverpool over a deal for veteran left-back Andy Robertson.
This is in direct response to Davies’ injury, and despite just confirming Souza as their latest signing, the 19-year-old could now be pushed down the pecking order by Robertson’s arrival.
The Scotland legend is out of contract this summer and could therefore join Frank’s side for a fairly cheap fee, but The Telegraph’s Matt Law suggests he’s in line to become one of Tottenam’s top earners if they get a deal done.
Robertson is on around £160,000-per-week according to Law, and there is every expectation he’d earn a similar wage packet in N17.
David Ornstein, among other sources, confirmed that Tottenham are advancing in talks for Robertson regardless, with another reporter in Graeme Bailey now also providing a key update.
Liverpool star Andy Robertson agrees terms to join Tottenham
As per the TEAMtalk correspondent, Robertson has already agreed personal terms to join Tottenham and become their third signing of the window.
Lange and co are said to have made progress in their push to capture the full-back, and there appears to be a real willingness to get him over the line.
The 31-year-old would come to Spurs after years of experience at the very top level, and he’d undoubtedly be a major asset to Frank in the dressing room as he looks to bring in a player of real pedigree.
Robertson has won multiple league titles, a Champions League and was one of the cornerstones of a Jürgen Klopp side that dominated the Premier League with Man City.
The 90-cap Tartan Army hero has made 363 appearances for the Reds, providing 68 assists from left-back, and although he wouldn’t be one for the future given his age, Robertson is a golden candidate to bolster Spurs’ ranks for the now.
It is also worth noting that Robertson can play on the left-wing when required, giving Frank another option further forward.
