The National Women’s Soccer League is back, and so is Trinity Rodman. The Spirit’s star striker returned to the pitch and the headlines as the Spirit take up chase of the Kansas City Current – who added Ally Sentnor in the hours before the weekend’s opening match.
Here’s how they stack up at through Week 14.
Cream of the Crop
Kansas City Current (12-2-0, 36 pts; @ Louisville, 2-0): Okay so the Current won 2-0 in Louisville. That was the subplot on the weekend. The real heat came in the trade for Ally Sentnor that, on the field at least, cost the Current nothing. She won’t be a like-for-like replacement for Vanessa DiBernardo, whose season is over after she announced her pregnancy, but look for Sentnor to be reinvigorated in new environs after a woeful first half of the season in Utah. The pressure is officially on in Kansas City for this club to bring home a trophy, if not two.
The biggest test of Ally Sentnor’s career awaits with record-breaking transfer
