We chat about the team selection which saw Kai Havertz start, and help bring a different kind of dynamic to the team’s midfield set-up, with Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi playing distinct roles too. We also discuss Noni Madueke, a late call-up after Bukayo Saka’s warm-up injury, and his contribution with an assist and a belatedly awarded goal. In the second half Viktor Gyokeres missed a chance but also tucked one away well, there were important cameos off the bench from Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus, and a resounding win was made more impactful by the points Man City dropped yesterday. In part 2 we have questions about Mikel Merino’s injury and whether or not Arsenal will move in the market before this evening’s deadline, potential beneficiaries of the Spaniard’s absence, Declan Rice, Ethan Nwaneri, tomorrow’s night Carabao Cup semi-final, and lots more.
