Bottle thrown by fan in Leeds end towards Kudus’s head; Porro jokes about being hit by vape

A bottle was thrown by a fan in Leeds end towards Kudus’s head; and Pedro Porro jokes on social media about being hit by vape.

While Porro was about to take a corner in front of the home end, he was struck by a pink vape, which he then picked up and pretended to smoke it.

He posted on Insta, saying: “Back on track with the boys… Didn’t feel like vaping today, fancied the three points instead 🤣🤍 #COYS”

TNT Sports Football also uploaded the clip onto TikTok, which has since gone viral across various social media, with fans now urging to the club to ban the person, who subsequently did the ‘wanker’ sign with his hand, who threw the bottle towards the Spurs players who were celebrating in front of the home fans, with Tottenham nearby.

It came as Leeds’ unbeaten home run in the league ends after more than a year with defeat to Tottenham after Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus saw their efforts go in off Pascal Struijk either side of Noah Okafor’s first-half equaliser.

Here’s how Twitter users reacted after the bottle thrown by fan in Leeds end comes VERY close to Kudus’s head during Tottenham’s win…

@Allthings__THFC: Whoever threw that bottle needs to be banned for life

@M07GS97: Tell you what.. some aim

@DegenGamblR86: Holy shit that could’ve been bad

@danisawolf: Would of hurt if connected that good of a throw it was quick enough that not one player even noticed it

@thfc_g3orge: Could’ve been really bad if that hit Kudus in the face

@HumbleCraig1: His own fans are 10m to his left, what not go and celebrate with them. Certainly not condoning that bottle throwing but why go right in front of the home fans when your’s are celebrating so nearby?

@wbahazz: Not condoning it, but if he’s gonna sit there goading them by taking a seat right infront of them, what’s he expecting?

@Smittcmd: People in the comments defending this behavior, y’all are disgusting. I’m glad Kudus is ok. that was close.

Thomas Frank’s side move within one point of Premier League leaders Liverpool, while for Leeds, 13th, their unbeaten home league run ends after over a year.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank to BBC Match of the Day: “We needed a win. The last three games were without [one]. That feeling to get over the line, to get three points, was big.

“But also the respect for Leeds and Eland Road. We knew very well the task ahead of us. We overcame that in a very good way. I thought we played overall a really good game. We should have got more out of the dangerous situations. I know they hit the post and the goal, and right at the end there was carnage, but for the rest of the game I thought we defended superbly.

“I think the character was the foundation, to go here and get through the spells where everything was not perfect and to keep the focus. I felt that was Xavi Simons’ best game for us.

“I am so happy for Mo [Mohammed Kudus]. Obviously scoring the goal because he wanted it. Not just a goal but a winner in a tight game. I also must mention Mathys [Tel]. He got his first goal of the season. He has had his set-backs so I am so, so happy for him.

“Elland Road is a very difficult ground to go to, I have experienced that many, many times. Their fans were very good, and so were our away fans.”

Leeds manager Daniel Farke to BBC Match of the Day: “[We needed] to score more goals from our big chances. We had two big mistakes. Football is sometimes like this. That’s the way it goes in the first half. Second half our player slipped and that was an invitation to Kudus.

“We had more than enough chances to win this game. Performance-wise I can just compliment the lads, we won every metric. We are disappointed but the lads should be pleased with their performance.

“Six goals in the last three games for a newly-promoted side is not too bad. But yeah if their goalkeeper is man of the match.

“Sometimes you need just a scruffy goal, a bit like they scored today. Today, against such a good opponent – Tottenham are in the Champions League, they are towards the top of the table – we missed too many chances to get something.

“If you see the whole picture, but it doesn’t take the disappointment away. We were the better side against such a top team. It says a lot about my team that we are on the such a good path.

“Nevertheless is it was such a top performance from my lads and we will keep going in this way.”

“We were the better side and dominated in all aspects. We deserved all three points” 📈

Despite a narrow defeat, Daniel Farke is delighted with Leeds’ performance against Spurs 🗣️

Farke speaking to TNT Sports: “When you lose, the first impression is that you are always disappointed. You don’t win any points, which was more than possible today. We were the better side today. In all aspects, we have dominated this game .

“We should have deserved not just a point, but to win this game. I am gutted for us because we didn’t win anything out of this game. That’s football. One or two mistakes are sometimes punished. But after one or two days, the boys can be proud of their performance.

“We gave the ball away a bit unnecessarily and clumsily. This is punished sometimes in football. In the second half, Gabriel Gudmundsson slipped when trying to clear the ball and it was bit like a pass to the feet of Kudus. Their goalkeeper was man of the match probably. Fantastic, fantastic saves.”

On Noah Okafor: “He was one of the many positives. I was pleased that against such a good side like Tottenham, we were able to be the better side. Many many positives, and Noah was one of them.”

On Dominic Calvert-Lewin: “He has scored goals since he started playing. He doesn’t have to overdo it. He came into two good shooting positions and probably should have scored in the first half. He has to work on like this. If you just concentrate on scoring goals, it will never work. You have to make sure you are good team-mate to work with. You just need a deflected or scruffy goal and the goals will come.”

On a first home defeat since September 2024: “I didn’t think we would go unbeaten at home through this season. You can accept the defeat if it is against a top side like Tottenham. I am still happy with the performance. If we deliver performances like this, we will be fine in the end.”

Tottenham goalscorer Mathys Tel to TNT Sports: “That was a tough game for us. The opponent played very well. We deserved to win because we fought until the end.

“I worked this week a lot on finishing. I’m very happy for me. I hope I can help the team more and keep going.

“We are always together, work together and win together. I am very happy again about the win and what we showed. We just need to keep going.”

Tel speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “I am very happy about my goal. I will say the team, we worked a lot this week. I think I deserved this goal and I am very happy about it.

“I always try to have the opportunity to shoot and I scored today. So I am happy.”

On the importance of the win: “The opponents were very, very good today. It was a tough game for us. But we fought until the end and we showed great mentality. That’s why I think we deserved to win this game.”

Tottenham goalscorer Mohammed Kudus to TNT Sports: “I’ve definitely been waiting [for my first Tottenham goal]. As an attacker it boosts your confidence when you score.

“I want to give my team-mate [Mathys Tel] some credit. I am a big fan of how he trains and how he has kept on going.

“We now go to represent our country and come back with the same focus. This is a big step in the right direction.”
