Chelsea Stunned PSG to Win FIFA Club World Cup | Football news at 1000Goals.com: Football Betting, Highlights, and More

Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup campaign ended in a massive success as they won the tournament after beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final. Cole Palmer, with his two goals, was the star for Enzo Maresca’s side in that match.

Chelsea Shocked PSG With a Convincing Win

Reaching the final after eliminating Fluminense, the Blues were in a confident mood despite not being the favourite to win. Many football fans were favouring PSG to take down Chelsea in the final, especially following Luis Enrique’s men’s excellent recent form.

However, Maresca’s men were not planning to fold down easily as they were eager to show that they belonged in that final. Chelsea made a strong start, as they put PSG under pressure from kick-off, resulting in the opening goal from Palmer on 22 minutes.

That opening goal gave the Blues more confidence, as they continued to cause problems for their opponent, particularly on the counter. Chelsea’s fast counter-attacking play eventually led them to score the second goal, as Palmer completed his brace.

The North London outfit made things more comfortable as they netted the third just before the half-time break, this time through Joao Pedro’s lovely finish. PSG tried to put a more attacking approach in the second half, but Chelsea were able to hold their advantage with a strong defensive performance.

A solid display from the Blues’ backline, plus Robert Sanchez’s brilliant performance in goal, kept the French side from even getting a consolation goal. PSG’s frustration boiled over in the last minute as João Neves saw red after pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair.

More brawls erupted after the game, but that didn’t stop Chelsea from celebrating as they lifted another prestigious trophy after winning the UEFA Conference League a couple of months back.
