Man United starting lineup vs Wolves

United make one change, bringing in midfielder Mason Mount for forward Joshua Zirkzee.

Matthijs de Ligt remains out after missing the game against West Ham through a late injury concern.

Full-back Diogo Dalot is fit despite appearing to take a knock during that game but centre-back Harry Maguire and forward Benjamin Sesko remain sidelined until later this month.

Forward Matheus Cunha, who returned from a head injury against West Ham, faces his former club. The forward contributed 21 Premier League goal involvements for Wolves last season but has just one so far in a United shirt.

Wolves vs Manchester United stats

Wolves have gone five consecutive league games without a goal, equalling their longest barren run in the Premier League, from 2003

Their run of seven Premier League defeats is the worst in their top-flight history

Their last league goal came on October 26, when Munetsi struck in a 3-2 home defeat by Burnley

The previous top-flight team to enter December without any player reaching two goals in the league was Leicester City in 1977

Their double over United last season – 2-0 at home, 1-0 away – equalled as many wins as they achieved in the previous 14 editions of the fixture

United have only ever lost eight Premier League games against sides who have started the game bottom of the table, but two of those have been at Wolves

They are one of three clubs in the Premier League to have no goals from substitutes this season

The 20-time champions are four away games unbeaten (W2 D2), having been eight without a win on their travels beforehand

West Ham’s late equaliser meant United have dropped eight points from winning positions in 2025/26

Cunha contributed directly to 11 goals in his final 12 Premier League appearances at Molineux (six goals and five assists) before joining United for £62.5 million in June

Premier League results this weekend

Emi Buendia’s 95th-minute winner for Aston Villa at home to Arsenal sent the Villans three points behind the Gunners at the top of the table at the start of the weekend.

Manchester City beat Sunderland to move a point ahead of Villa before reigning champions Liverpool’s uncertain form continued with a 3-3 draw at Leeds United, for whom Ao Tanaka struck a 96th-minute equaliser.

Saturday, December 6

Aston Villa 2-1 Arsenal

Bournemouth 0-0 Chelsea

Everton 3-0 Nottingham Forest

Manchester City 3-0 Sunderland

Newcastle 2-1 Burnley

Tottenham 2-0 Brentford

Leeds 3-3 Liverpool
