You never know where a goal is going to come from. The Kansas City Current’s equalizer on Saturday began with a throw-in, was unlocked through one sublime pass that switched the point of attack and finished off by an aggressive runner taking advantage of a defense pulled apart.
Gotham was utilizing their usual defensive pressure from their forwards, and walked Gabrielle Carle to the near sideline, below, where she popped a pass off Midge Purce and out of bounds for what looked like an innocuous throw-in. But the Current made it anything but innocuous.
