They wrote: “Sunderland West End Football Club can confirm that it has taken the difficult decision to resign from the league. At the end of this current season
“This has not been an easy choice, and it comes after careful consideration of the challenges facing the club. Sunderland West End has been a proud part of the local football community for many years, and we recognise the history, commitment, and passion that so many people have contributed over the last two decades.
“We would like to clarify that our Juniors and Ladies sections will continue to operate, and remain an important part of the club’s future. We are committed to ensuring these teams continue to provide opportunities within the local community.
“We will be issuing a further statement at the end of the season to properly recognise and thank all of the players, staff, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who have played a role in the club’s journey and continued support over the years.
“With two home games remaining this season, we would love to see as many familiar faces as possible down at the ground. Whether you’ve been involved on the pitch, behind the scenes, or supported from the sidelines over the past 20 years, your presence would mean a great deal to the club as we approach the end of this chapter.
