Standing over what turned out to be the most important free kick in Gotham history, Jaedyn Shaw and Rose Lavelle had an extended conversation figuring out the best way to evade Orlando’s defensive wall and goalkeeper. It was stoppage time of a scoreless match and Gotham had yet to record a shot on goal. There was no time like the present.
“Me and Rose have a really good understanding of what we want it to look like for our own shots and we have a pretty good understanding of like I know when it’s a good shot for her and vice versa,” Shaw said of the consulting session. “So that was just kind of what we were talking about, seeing what the setup was going to look like.”
