The Whites aren’t safe quite yet in the Premier League. They’ve still got work to do in their final nine games in the hope that their three-point gap is enough to eventually secure their top flight status.

It would be deserved survival, too. Daniel Farke has gone from a man under pressure to the man responsible for transforming those at Elland Road. The German’s decision to switch to a 5-4-1 system has proven to be an act of genius and the catalyst behind Leeds’ turnaround.

If nothing changes between now and the final game of the season, then Leeds will simply have to hold their nerve against West Ham, who are currently three points behind the Whites and inside the relegation zone.

Survival would be a significant step for all involved at Elland Road. It would bring an end to the recent trend of promoted sides heading straight back down, with Sunderland also helping in that department.

And it would also open the door for some impressive reinforcements. This could mean arrivals for the likes of Troy Parrott or even a Champions League star.

According to TeamTalk, Leeds officials travelled to make serious checks on Jens Petter Hauge when his Bodo/Glimt side brushed Sporting Club to one side in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.

Hauge has earned deserved redemption in Norway

Hauge’s redemption arc is one that AC Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt certainly didn’t see coming after he failed to make his mark in Italy and Germany, but Bodo/Glimt won’t be complaining.

The seven-goal attacker, who can play on both wings and in the No.10 role, has been excellent for the Norwegian outfit ever since returning and is now on his way to a Champions League quarter-final.

Bodo’s 3-0 victory over Sporting in midweek was just the latest of a long line of impressive results. Before then, they knocked Inter Milan out of the competition and defeated Pep Guardiola’s Man City side in the league phase.

With Man City left shocked in Norway, Hauge dominated proceedings – scoring one of his side’s three goals, creating three chances and even winning six tackles. He was everywhere.

Since then, he’s also scored against Inter and assisted against Sporting. If recent form hasn’t been enough to convince Leeds into making a move then not much will. He would be an excellent signing.
