Lille vs Marseille Bet Builder Tips – 13/1 Ligue 1 Special, Analysis & Predictions

In what is a season-defining showdown from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Sunday night, Lille will host bitter domestic rivals Marseille.

Enjoying what has become quite the purple patch since returning from March’s international break, the Mastiffs know that they can take a giant leap towards booking a Champions League ticket this month.

While Marseille might be sat in the driving seat to secure a silver medal finish among France’s elite, Les Phoceens have continued to gain an unwanted reputation for their issues on the road.

Two camps who open Sunday’s showdown separated by just a pair of points, we have taken a glance at some of the most appealing Lille vs Marseille Bet Builder Tips.

Lille looking to make another statement

While Lille might have watched their Champions League adventure come to an end on March 12th following a 3-2 aggregate defeat against Borussia Dortmund, Bruno Genesio’s side have come roaring back in some style.

Last seen securing a routine 2-0 victory away at Angers, Sunday’s hosts have won each of their previous three Ligue 1 appearances by an aggregate score of 7-2.

Marking their return from March’s international break with a 1-0 win against Lens, Lille have registered 12 points from their last five Ligue 1 showdowns.

Likewise, securing a 3-1 romp against Auxerre in their last appearance at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Genesio’s side will be excited by their extended success in front of their own supporters.

In fact, the Mastiffs have won their previous four consecutive domestic battles on home soil by an aggregate score of 7-2.

Bet Builder Tip: Lille win @ 15/11 with 1xBet

Issues on the road continue to haunt De Zerbi

While Marseille might be sitting in the driving seat to secure both a silver medal finish and an essential Champions League return, Roberto De Zerbi’s side have come under some scrutiny so far this calendar year.

Although the former Brighton boss might have seen his squad win three of their previous four Ligue 1 appearances, Sunday’s guests have gained a real reputation for their struggles on the road.

Last seen on their travels putting in a nightmare display as they slumped to a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Monaco, Marseille have remarkably lost all of their last four straight showdowns away from the Stade Velodrome.

Marking their return from March’s international break with consecutive 3-1 losses against PSG and Reims, Les Phoceens have lost those four consecutive away fixtures by an aggregate score of 12-2.

Without a win from any of their previous five matchups against the Mastiffs across all fronts, De Zerbi look set for another stern examination here.

Bet Builder Tip: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to be shown a card @ 10/3 with BetUS

A final outing at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy for David

With his contract set to come to an end this summer, all signs are points towards Sunday’s showdown being Jonathan Davi’s final appearance at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Reportedly attracting a string of heavyweight European interest and now expected to complete a free switch away from France, the Canadian marksman finds his stock at a red-hot high.

Bagging a Ligue 1 brace against Auxerre in his last outing on home soil, the 25-year-old is now widely regarded as one of Europe’s hottest striking stars.

Notching 16 top-flight strikes this season, David sits third in France’s goalscoring charts, the former Gent youngster has also registered nine goals for club and country so far this calendar year.

Meeting a Marseille defence that has shipped a trio of strikes in all of their previous four straight Ligue 1 contests on the road, David will be looking to make one final statement in front of his own supporters.

Bet Builder Tip: Jonathan David over 0.5 shots on target @ 4/9 with Dachbet
