Manchester City are keeping their chase on Arsenal at the top of the English Premier League standings after picking up an important win over Bournemouth this Sunday. Erling Haaland got his name back on the score sheet, grabbing two goals in City’s 3-1 home victory over their opponents.
Man City Bounce Back in the Premier League
After suffering a disappointing defeat against Aston Villa last weekend, Pep Guardiola’s side were determined to turn things around this weekend. Man City looked determined to get back on winning ways as they pushed hard from the start.
City’s aggressive approach was rewarded as they got themselves in front after just 17 minutes through Haaland’s goal. However, the visitor managed to draw level in 25 minutes, thanks to an effort from Tyler Adams.
The home team didn’t wait long to regain its advantage as Halland netted his second in the 33rd minute to end the first half with a slender lead for Man City. Guardiola’s team finally secured all three points as Nico O’Reilly netted home the third on the hour mark.
An important result for Man City as they keep chasing on league leader, Arsenal, albeit a six-point gap between the two teams. City are currently second with 19 points, just one ahead of their arch rival, Liverpool, who ended their EPL drought on Saturday by beating Villa 2-0.
