AC Milan has completed a temporary move for Niclas Fullkrug, bringing the forward from West Ham until the end of the current campaign, with a clause allowing a permanent transfer.
The 32-year-old attacker made the move to England in 2024, when the London side agreed to a £27m deal with Borussia Dortmund to secure his services.
His spell in the Premier League proved challenging, as a combination of injuries and inconsistency limited his impact, with three goals recorded across 29 outings.
Difficult chapter at West Ham
Reflecting on his time in East London, Fullkrug admitted expectations were not met, addressing supporters through a post on social media.
He expressed appreciation for the backing he received during a testing period, highlighting the people he encountered and the bonds formed during his stay.
The German international concluded his message by offering his best wishes to the club as the season progresses.
New opportunity in Serie A
The striker travelled to Italy last week and has already taken part in training sessions with his new colleagues.
Currently, Milan is in first place in Serie A, two points ahead of the city’s rival Inter, which has a match in reserve, in the fight for the title.
Meanwhile, West Ham find themselves in difficulty near the foot of the Premier League table, positioned 18th and four points away from safety.
