Manchester City got the first advantage in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal as they took down Newcastle United at St. James Park. Goals from Antoine Semenyo and Rayan Cherki were enough to secure an important away victory for the Citizens.
Semenyo Strike Again in Man City Win vs Newcastle
Pep Guardiola’s side seems to be rediscovering their form again, notably following the arrival of Semeny0 from Bournemouth a few days ago. After scoring on his debut in the FA Cup clash against Exeter City, now the Ghanaian strike again for his new club.
Semenyo opened the scoring for Man City on 53 minutes and could’ve got his second but was controversially disallowed by the VAR decision. Nevertheless, the visitor did manage to get their second, thanks to Cherki’s strike deep in added time.
