Nottingham Forest have renewed their interest in bringing Brentford striker Yoane Wissa to the City Ground, according to reports.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein is reporting that Forest have made a new offer for the 28-year-old Congo international after trying to sign him in January for around £22million, but that the most recent bid has been rejected.
It is believed Brentford are holding out for an improved offer for Wissa, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season and contributed four assists.
The Bees are thought to value the forward at more than £50m – a price tag that may increase should Bryan Mbeumo, who is the target of Manchester United, depart the Gtech Community Stadium.

Wissa has a year left on his current contract – plus an option of a 12-month extension – after joining Brentford from French club Lorient in August 2021.
The reports come following a summer of significant change at Brentford. In June, Keith Andrews, the former midfielder and previously the club’s set-piece coach, was appointed as Thomas Frank’s successor after the Dane replaced Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.
Meanwhile, experienced midfielder and captain Christian Norgaard’s move to Arsenal was confirmed on Thursday.
