We’re down to Decision Day. We know who will host two of the quarterfinals and we know seven of the eight playoff squads. Still one spot to be claimed and several seeding/matchup scenarios to unfold. And injuries are mounting around the National Women’s Soccer League including potential death blows to the top two sides.
Here’s how the clubs shape up after most of Week 25.
Cream of the Crop
z-Kansas City Current (20-3-2, 66 pts; @ Dash, 0-1): Rarely has a loss ever meant so little. Totally overshadowing the result was the non-contact injury to Temwa Chawinga. Early reports were that the injury was not to her knee, but at publish time there was no official update from the Current or Chawinga. If she can’t post up for the playoffs, that changes a lot.
Sending support to KC Current star & Golden Boot leader Temwa Chawinga who left the field with an injury ❤️🩹 pic.twitter.com/JQb6QaX17s
