Newcastle United fan True Geordie has gone off on the Premier League — and it’s hard to disagree with him. 😤
In a passionate rant that’s now doing the rounds online, the Kick Off host claimed the league is “rigged” to protect the traditional big clubs — and pointed the finger at financial rules that are crushing the hopes of ambitious clubs like Newcastle. 🧨
“The top five clubs can spend what they want, they make the revenue — but we can’t. It’s rigged.”
His comments come amid growing reports that Alexander Isak is set to leave St. James’ Park, with Newcastle unable to match the wages and sponsorship powerhouses of clubs like Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool. 😔
Under the Premier League’s PSR (Profit & Sustainability Rules), clubs can only spend what they earn — but when the revenue streams are already dominated by the big names, where does that leave everyone else?
“How are we meant to compete when we can’t offer the same wages, when we don’t have the sponsorships, when the moment we get a world-class player, they’re poached?” 💔
