Sunday’s game is United Women’s closest home match to the 68th anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster.
To preserve the memories of those we lost or never played again, our players will wear black armbands, both teams will lay a wreath ahead of kick-off and large memorial flags will adorn the North Stand. We are encouraging supporters to arrive early to pay their respects.
From two hours prior to kick-off until 15 minutes before the first whistle, fans can join our Manchester United Foundation coaches and show off football skills on the MUGA pitch, located at Leigh Sports Hub, behind The Whistling Wren. It’s free to play, but we do advise wearing suitable clothing and footwear.
The Legends Bar at the front of the stadium will also be open for food and drink from 09:30 GMT, while the fixture is part of the WSL Football Fan Choice Pilot, meaning supporters in attendance have the option to drink alcohol in view of the pitch.
