Rangers are now eyeing a summer move for a “fantastic” defender, with former interim manager Barry Ferguson previously making it clear he’s a big fan.
Gers set sights on new defender
The Scottish Premiership title race is heating up, with Celtic securing a dramatic late 3-2 victory at Kilmarnock earlier today to pile the pressure on Rangers, who made no mistake, defeating Hearts 4-2 at Ibrox, despite trailing twice.
However, Hearts remain top of the table, two points clear of the Gers, and still have a good chance of winning the league for the first time since 1960.
Should the Gers manage to secure top spot for the first time since 2020, however, Ibrox should be an attractive destination in the summer, and they are now going toe-to-toe with Celtic for the signature of a Scottish Premiership star.
That is according to a report from Football Insider, which states Rangers are now eyeing a summer move for Dundee FC defender Luke Graham, with the 22-year-old also being targeted by their Old Firm rivals.
Graham has caught the eye with his displays in the Scottish Premiership this season, with clubs from England also keen, according to transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, who added: “As we normally see over in Scotland, if there’s a player performing well outside of the Old Firm, Rangers and Celtic will try to sign them.
“Graham has attracted that interest because of how well he has done for Dundee this season.
“Dundee did well to keep hold of him in the January window, because I think there was interest from the likes of Queens Park Rangers and Portsmouth in the English Championship.”
As such, there could be fierce competition for the defender’s signature, but Danny Rohl’s side should do everything they can to win the race, given the level of his performances for Dundee…

Graham could be “fantastic” signing for Rangers
Scotland U21s coach Scot Gemmill has been left impressed by the starlet’s performances at international level, saying earlier this season: “Luke is fantastic. He’s obviously playing at Premiership level now. He’s doing great. He was excellent in Czech Republic.
“A really top performance and that was a very high level game. “For me, that was a real hurdle for him to show that he can play at that level. He’s been really positive.”
Gemmill isn’t alone in his admiration either, with former Rangers boss Ferguson making it clear he’s a big fan, saying: “He’s went on loan to lower league opposition so he’s certainly done his apprenticeship, and every time I watch him he’s been a standout for Dundee.”
The centre-back has also averaged 1.2 interceptions per 90 in the Scottish Premiership, the second-highest number of any Dundee player, while an average FotMob rating of 6.97 also ranks him in second place.
As such, Graham could now be ready for a big move, and it would be a real statement if Rangers were able to beat their major rivals to his signature this summer.
