Dominik Szoboszlai revealed that he is in talks with Liverpool about extending his contract, but insists no decision has been made yet.
Liverpool’s Premier League defence has not gone to plan so far, with the Reds 14 points behind leaders Arsenal, while they are ninth in the Champions League ahead of their trip to Marseille on Wednesday.
However, Szoboszlai has been one of the standout performers for Arne Slot’s side this season.
Only Hugo Ekitike (15) has directly contributed to more goals than Szoboszlai (11 – six goals, five assists) across all competitions this term, and the Hungarian has also provided the joint-most assists alongside Florian Wirtz.
Szoboszlai’s current deal at Anfield expires in June 2028, but the 25-year-old is open to extending his stay on Merseyside.
“There is always progress but no decision has been made and I’ll just keep on going every week, every training, giving my best for the team, for the fans,” Szoboszlai said when asked about his contract negotiations.

“You guys in the media make a lot for the [public] and you keep on going because that’s our job but there has been talks but for sure not any decision has been made.
“Of course I am happy here but you know how football works and that is something everybody has to take into account.”
The Reds are unbeaten in their last 12 matches in all competitions (W6 D6), but they have struggled against French sides away from home.
Liverpool have won just one of their last six away games against French teams in all competitions (D2 L3), though it was a 1-0 win at Paris Saint-Germain in their most recent visit in March 2025.
And Marseille have lost their last three Champions League games against Liverpool, most recently in the 2008-09 group stage (1-2 home, 0-1 away).
